Biography

Christopher Arth was a violinist who is said to have been performing at Ford's Theater the night President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated there.

Christopher Arth was born 29 May 1837, in Hesseln, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. He was the son of Michaelis and Elisabetha Arth.

Christopher married Katharina Adam (1841-1904) on November 22, 1865, in Washington, District of Columbia. They had eight children over the course of twelve years.

Christopher died 15 Jun 1901, in Washington, District of Columbia, at the age of 64, and was buried there.
