Biography

Eva Belle was born 11 June 1865 in Vernon Township, Shiawassee, Michigan the daughter of Edward Arthur and Harriet (Bentley) Arthur.

In 1870 she was living with her parents in Vernon Township, Shiawassee, Michigan. Apparently they were moving at the time the census was taken as they appear twice in what are clearly two different locations within the township.[1] [2] In 1880 she is living with her widowed mother still in Vernon Township. [3]

Eva Belle married Fletcher Wright about 1881. So far no official record of their marriage has been found.

Around 1884 the young family moved to Hanover Township, Wexford, Michigan.

Unfortunately Eva Belle experienced some severe health problems following the birth of her last child. She was first admitted to Eloise [1] around 1896 because the family was living in Sumpter Township, Wayne, Michigan. But later became an inmate of the Eastern Michigan Asylum for the Insane [2]at Pontiac city, Oakland, Michigan, United States.[4] Ironically, she again appears twice on the 1900 Census as she is also listed with her family in Durand village, Shiawassee, Michigan, United States.[5]

She passed away 24 September 1908 at the Eastern Michigan Asylum for the Insane at Pontiac, Oakland, Michigan. [6]

At the time of Eva Belle's death, the family was living near Gagetown, Michigan and Eva was buried at Grant Township Cemetery, Huron, Michigan.[7] [8]
