James was born November 7, 1907 in Wooster, Ohio, USA. He was the son of George Arthur and Lily Ware. His full name and date and place of birth was from his father's application for a passport in November 1912 when he gave his residence as Tacoma, Washington.[1][2]

A marriage license was issued on May 8, 1932 in Whatcom county, Washington, USA to James Robert Arthur and Jean G. Galt, both resident of Vancouver British Columbia. He was 24 and she was 20 and their marriage took place on June 1, 1932 in Whatcom county, Washington.[4]
He died November 2, 1992 in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada.[5]
