Biography
Frances Ann Arthur, the daughter of James Arthur, married Henry Hamley, son of George Hamley, in Lanivet, Cornwall, England on 7 December 1839. [1]
In the 1851 census for St Mabyn, Cornwall, England, Frances, age 27, and Henry, age 33, were married and had a daughter, Mary Ann Hamley, age 10, born in St Mabyn, and a son WIlliam Henry Hamley, age 8, born in Lanivet. [2]
The family appears in the 1860 US Census for Maquoketa City, South Fork Twp, Jackson, Iowa and includes: Henry, 42; Frances, 36; Mary Ann, 19; Wm H, 16; W R, 10; Edwin, 9; Hart, 8; James F, 7; all born in England, and Geo A, 1, born in Iowa. [3]
