Biography

Mary was born in 1863.[1][2]. Illegitimate, according to birth record; no father stated.[3] No relevant kirk session or sheriff courts records concerning paternity have been found.

She married John Hogarth. The couple had three daughters.

Her husband died in 1889.

Death notice

In 1891 she was keeping a small shop.

In 1901, she and her surviving children were living with her uncle, John Currie
