Biography

John Arthy was born about 1771. He was the son of Samuel Arthy and Rose Unknown. He was baptised on 1 May 1775 at St. Mary the Virgin, Ardleigh, Essex, England. [1]

John Arthy (husbandman aged 25) was living in Ardleigh, Essex, England 13th October 1796 with wife Ann Arthy (aged 23), mother-in-law Rose PILL or PITT (aged 69) and daughter Rose Arthy (aged 2)[2]

There does not appear to be any other Arthy family resident in Ardleigh in 1796, suggesting that John Arthy's family had died or moved away.
