Biography

Donna R Artis was born on February 28, 1890 in Fairchance, Pennsylvania and is the daughter of George Washington Artis (1845-1906) and Margaret J (Hugh) Artis (1850-1932). She grew up in Georges Township, Pennsylvania[1] along with nine siblings; Franklin H Artis (1867-1940), Harry Hiram Artis (1869-1935), Nina Lucretia (Artis) Nieman (1871-1958), Minnie (Artis) Culberson (~1872), William George Artis Sr (1875-1942), Cora L (Artis) Trenton (~1878), Mabel (Artis) Reitz (~1881), Ervan H Artis (1887-1969) and Dennis H Artis (1892-1940).

Donna married Herman Christopher Varndell April 28, 1909[2] and they made their home South Union Township, Pennsylvania[3] until their divorce about 1918. Together they had three children; Kathryn G Varndell, Ethel June Varndell and Georgetta M Varndell.

Donna married Dewey Charles Bunnell about 1924 and they made their home in Georges Township, Pennsylvania[4] and Columbiana County, Ohio until his death in October 1971. Together they raised one child, Dewey William Bunnell.[5][6] Donna died in 1981 and is buried in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pennsylvania.[7]
