Biography

Frank was born on 26 April 1891 in Stettin, Marathon, Wisconsin, USA. He was the son of Conrad Artus and Friedericke Maria Wilhelmine (Nique) Artus.

When Frank was 23 he married Amanda Agusta Ernestina Krahn on 24 October 1914 in Rib Falls, Marathon Co., Wisconsin.^[1][2][3] They had 3 daughters.

In 1970 Frank (age about 78) was living at 527 S. Fourth Ave., Wausau.^[3]

Frank died at the age of 79 on 25 September 1970 in Wausau, Marathon, Wisconsin, USA.^[4][5][3]

Frank was buried after 25 September 1970 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau, Marathon Co., Wisconsin.^[4][6]

Obituary: Frank H. Artus, 79, 527 S. Fourth Ave., Wausau, died at 3:35 a.m., today at the Wausau Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Helke West Chapel, Wausau. The Rev. Jerome Nagler, pastor of Wesley Methodist Church, Wausau, will officiate, and burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m., Sunday at Helke West Chapel, Wausau.
Mr. Artus was born April 26, 1891, in the town of Stettin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Artus. On October 24, 1914, in the town of Rib Falls, he was married to Amanda Krahn, who survives. Mr. Artus was a farmer, and had operated the West Side Hotel from 1921 to 1928.
Survivors, besides his wife, include three daughters, Mrs. Mildred St. John, Rockford, IL, Mrs. Merlin Stone, Chicago, and Mrs. Raymond Kleutz, town of Maine; a brother, Carl, 513 S. 18th Ave., Wausau; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
