Biography

Agnes Arzt was born on 4 Mar 1858 in Skuhrov, Usti nad Orlici, Pardubicky kraj, Czech Republic. She is the daughter of Johann Arzt and Agnes Koblichek [1] [2]

On 24 Jun 1871, age 19, Agnes arrived from Bremen, Germany to New York, New York, United States with her mother and five siblings. The place of origin was Bohemia, Czechoslovakia. [3]

Agnes and William were married on 3 Nov 1875. [4]

In 1880, after her husband, Wilhelm Adolph Andreas Goetting passed away, Agnes and her son were living in Monroe, Wisconsin with her step father, John Gregor and her mother Agnes Gregor. She was working in the Nursing Field. [2]

Agnes lived with her brother Joseph E Arz in Clifton, Wisconsin in 1910. [5]

Before 1920 Agnes moved to Juneau, Wisconsin with her son, William, and his four children. She was a tremendous help in raising her grandchildren. [6]

Agnes Arzt Goetting passed away in 1930. She is buried at the Saint Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Oakdale, Monroe County, Wisconsin. [7]
