Eliza was born on 1 December 1848 at Hammersmith, Middlesex. She was the daughter of George Arundell and Mary Thomas. Her birth was registered as Eliza Mary at Kensington registration district in the first quarter of 1849.
She was baptised on 29 July 1849 at the parish of Hammersmith.[1] The register confirms her father is a baker.
Her parents had married in 1847.
Eliza aged 2 appears in the 1851 census. Her family are residing at 10 Chapel Place, Chiswick, Middlesex. Details are father George Arundell (22, baker journeyman), mother Mary Arundell (25, laundress), Eliza Arundell (2, born Hammersmith) and brother George Arundell (10 months, born Hammersmith). Also staying with them is her mother's sister Ellen Thomas (14, general servant). [2]
In 1852 a second brother, Alfred Arundell, was born. The family address is described as Twinham Green, Chiswick.
Eliza died aged just short of her ninth birthday, in 1857. She was buried on 3 December 1857 in the parish of St Mary, Fulham, Middlesex. Her address at the time is recorded as Chapel Place, Twinham Green. Her death was registered at Brentford, Middlesex in the fourth quarter of 1857.
