Biography

Verna Arvey has Russian Roots

Verna was born in 1910 in Los Angeles, California. ^[1] She was the daughter of Russian immigrants, David and Bessie Arvey.^[1]

Verna was a pianist and librettist, and collaborated with her husband, Wiliam Grant Still, on A Bayou Legend, his 3-act opera.^[2]

She died in 1987. ^[3][4][5]
