Biography

Jesse Asbill was born in 1875 in Missouri, USA to Susien Mitchell and Washington F Asbill.

During the US census of 1880, he was living with his parents and two siblings.[1]

Jesse married Martha Ella (last name unknown). One US census from 1920 shows him living with Martha E Asbill (wife) and Maybell Martin (step-daughter). in Sheridan, Crawford County, Kansas, [2]

The 1930 census reveals Jesse living with his wife Ella Asbill (born in Illinois) and his adopted daughter Cordelia Asbill (born in Kansas) [3]. While I cannot find a marriage record yet, I believe the Ella is Martha Ella, as both census records showed his wife to be from Illinois.

Research Notes

I have not found a death date yet. Also note that this surname does have a habit of changing from Asbill to Asbell in various records and sometimes other variations. Jesse was noted as Jess in one record while the other, Jesse.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jesse by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jesse:
