Daniel Leo Asbury was born 29 October 1890 in Falls County, Texas, United States. His parents were John A. Asbury (1846 - 1905) and Nancy Lou Stinnett (1865 - 1950). (Note: Daniel's military records have 1891 as birth year, and his death records have 1890.)[1]
Daniel completed his World War 1 draft registration card while living in Rosebud, Texas. He was 25, a self-employed sheet-metal worker, and was responsible for his mother and four sisters. He was described as tall, medium build, with gray eyes and black hair. [2]
Daniel served in World War I. He was inducted at Marlin Falls County, Texas on 8 August 1918. He was in Company F 109 Engineers until his discharge. He served overseas 17 September 1918 to 26 June 1919, and was honorably discharged 3 July 1919.[3]
Daniel married Eulah C. Land (1889 - 1987) on 6 April 1924, in Milam, Sabine County, Texas.[4]
Their son was John Braxton Asbury (1925 - 1925).
Daniel died on 5 Jul 1973 in Rosebud, aged 81. He is buried in Woodland Cemetery, Rosebud, Falls County, Texas.[5]
