Biography

George was born in 1869, in Vinton, Iowa, to William and Elizabeth McFarland Aschenbrenner. He attended Williamette College in Salem, Oregon, where he met Alia Currin. They both graduated in about 1902 and married in 1903. They travelled together to the Philippines where they taught English. When they returned to the US, in 1905, they purchased land to grow citrus fruit and settled in Covina, California. George was an active member of the community, serving in various town leadership roles and on Boards of Directors. The couple had two children. George died in 1934, in Covina, at the age of 64.
