Biography

Andrew J. Barnett/Bennett Ash was born circa 1804 in Lee County, Virginia (now known as Scott County, Virginia) to Daniel Ash, Sr. and Susanna Pridemore.[1]

He was married twice, first to Elizabeth Ann Gillum circa 1825 in Scott County, Virginia and second, to Nancy Saulsbery on 2 Jun 1872 in Carter County, Kentucky (Marriage Records, Blue Book #1838, page 326, Carter County, Kentucky marriages).[2] He outlived both his wives.

Andrew died on 18 May 1883 in Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky. The 1880 census mentioned that he suffered from lung disease.[3] He was most likely buried in the Ash Cemetary, Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.[1]
