1-Notes:

I have traced the ASH/AISH family back to Somerset UK 1735.

James Ash 1853-1918 and Mary Ann Ash (Rowe) 1850-1940 came from neighbouring villages.

James from Seavington St Michael Somerset and Mary from Wayford.

They married in Bath in 1875.

First child William (Willie) 1876 -1916, died of war wounds in the UK, WW1. No issue. This is another story.

Beatrice Bertha 1879-1962. married William Dyer in 1900 and you probably know the rest. I think they had 5 children,1 son and 4 girls.

James,Mary, Willie and Beatrice arrived in Sydney on 'Glamis' 11 January 1881 as assisted immigrants.

Looks like they went straight to Blayney. They lived in Water Street. The house is still there.

They went on to have more children but a number died young. The ones who died in infancy are all buried in Blayney cemetery. The ones who survived infancy are as follows:

Alice May Ash 1881-1970 (Aunt Lee). Married but no issue

Walter Ash 1885-1959. I met his only son several years ago but he has since died and no issue.

Evelyn Ash (my grandmother) 1886-1970. Married my grandfather Norman Noble Gannoni at Blayney 1911. They had 4 children and I am a direct descendant from their youngest child Geoffrey.

George Edward Glenelg (Glen) 1888-1906. Also buried in Blayney cemetery.
