Rosemary grew up in poverty, but not for lack of her parents' hard work. There were ten children in her family. She was born toward the end of the Great Depression, shortly before WWII. She graduated high school in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and went to nursing training at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Alton, Illinois (1958-1961). She worked in surgery and State Hospital and went into the USAF (8/1962-11/1963) as a Lieutenant. After marrying, she worked in Med/Surg, ICU, Coronary Care and was the Supervisor and Charge Nurse. She worked ER and some long-term care and retired from Mission Regional Trauma Center in Mission Viejo in June 1992. She was the charge of Surgical Floor and also worked the float pool in ICU, Med/Surg, Trauma, and Oncology. She was licensed as an RN in six states and earned her RNC in 1990. She retired with her husband in Redding, CA and enjoyed working diligently on the family heritage album for many branches of the family. She passed away from ovarian cancer. For two days before her death, she was somewhat comatose at home. Moments before she passed away, she suddenly became wide awake, pointing at the empty space in front of her with a look of utter amazement. She tried to tell us what she was seeing, but was unable to form the words. We believe she saw Jesus come for her. She was a devout Christian and her last request was to hear the bible being read out loud to her.
