Albert R Ashbrook and Clara J Bonney were her parents. [1]
She married first by about 1923 to Alfred Newton Butts and their children were:
William H., b. abt. 1924
Afred Newton, Jr., b. abt. 1926
Newton died in 1935 -- the same year as his sister Leila -- and after their deaths, Verneice married Leila's widower Charles Perry.
Verneice's elder son William, who would have been about 16 in 1940, did not appear in the 1940 census Verneice and Charles Perry.
Charles died in 1962 and Verneice died in 1977, and they are both buried in Clovis Cemetery, Fresno County, California.
