Biography

Isaac was the 7th of 8 children born to Isaac Ashcroft and Alice Haslehurst. He was christened on 4th October, 1874 at Christ Church, Padgate Lancashire ^[1] and lived and worked on the family farm in Long Lane, Orford, Lancashire along with most of his siblings. ^{[2] [3] [4]} and later at Brook House Farm, Penketh, Lancashire. ^[5] Most of the family stayed on at the farm after the death of their father and older brother Walter and although he was the next to youngest of the family, the 1911census shows Isaac as head of the household. ^{[6] [7]}
