He first purchased land (240 acres) in Conecuh County, Alabama on 05 Jul 1824.[5] He is listed on the 1830 census of Conecuh County, Alabama with the following household members:
Wilson married wife Mary Ann about 1824[3][1] and had the following known children:
Susan Ashley was born about 1828 in Alabama.[1] She married a Jones about 1848 and had a daughter Mary S. Jones age 9 months who was living, along with Susan, in the home of Wilson and Mary Ann Ashley in 1850.[1][2] Susan apparently died before 1860.[2]
Nathaniel Ashley was born in Alabma about 1830.[1][6]
Mary Ann Ashley was born in Alabama about 1842.[1][2]
Wilson served as Conecuh County, Alabama Representative from 1835 to 1836.[7]
