Biography
When John Ashley was born in 1814 in Abbeville, South Carolina, his father, Thomas, was 33 and his mother, Nancy, was 29. He had three sons and four daughters with Jane Bannister between 1842 and 1859. He died in 1860 in his hometown at the age of 46.
