Chester Ashley was an Arkansan.
Chester Monroe Ashley was born 23 Jan 1861. He was the son of William Van Alstyne Ashley and Martha Jane Lefevre.
1870 census- William V Ashley (age 49) and his wife Martha (age 44) are living in Wileys Cove Township, Searcy, Arkansas with their children: Steven L (age 27), Chester (age 11), and Matthew (age 1). William was born in New York. All the others were born in Arkansas. William is a farmer. Steven is a farm laborer. Martha is keeping house. Chester is at school. Real estate value is $1200; Personal property value is $1000.[1]
He passed away 24 Mar 1911 in Leslie, Arkansas.[2] He is buried in Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Wileys Cove, Searcy, Arkansas.[3]
