Rose Ashman, was born at Icklingham, Suffolk, England in 1777, she was baptised at St. James, Icklingham on June 22, 1777[1] and was the daughter of Richard Ashman and Rose Snow . She married Samuel Plumb on October 9, 1796,[2]her name is wrongly transcribed as Ashfield in the marriage record. At first Samuel and Rose lived in Bury St. Edmunds but in 1800 the family arrived in Soham, Cambridgeshire, they had 8 children. Rose died of palsy in Soham at the age of 72.[3] She was buried in Soham on October 13,1847.

Research Note
Rose's name is given as Ashfield instead of Ashman on her marriage certificate, but it is clearly the same person.
