Biography

Susan (Ashman) Foreman migrated from England to Canada.

Susan Ashman was born in about 1814^[10] and christened on 21 June 1816 in Ashley cum Silverley, Cambridgeshire, England^[1]. She was the daughter of Houghton Ashman, a shepherd, and Mary Ann Ashman, née Macro, who had married in 1810.

On 19 December 1833 Susan married William Foreman, in Ashley^[2]. The couple then lived just up the road in Cheveley^[7], where they had their children christened: John^[3], Stephen^[4], Richard^[5], George^[6], and William^[8][9].

At some point between 1844 and 1851 Susan and her family emigrated to Ontario, Canada^[10].

Do not confuse with Susan Ashman the daughter of Abraham and Mary Ashman, christened in 1816 at Wickhambrook^[11]; nor with the Susan Ashman daughter of William and Charlotte Ashman of Mildenhall, Suffolk; nor with Susan Ashman née Perkis, born in Kirtling/Upend, wife of our Susan's brother George.
