Given the rarity of his name, plus the fact that his (private) spouse was born in the 1920s, he is probably the following:
Verlin E. Ashmore, b 16 Sep 1922 in Alabama; d 21 July 1995 in Jackson, Alabama.[1]
He was probably the son of Thomas p. Ashmore and his wife ellen, with whom Vernin is enumerated as son in the 1930[2] and 1940[3] census records in Jackson, Alabama.
Thomas (b abt 1895) and Ellen (b abt 1894) married about 1913.
Ellen's maiden name, per marriage records of some of their children, was Welch.[4]
Verlin and Katie Louise Hall ( b 15 Sep 1925, daughter of Burt Hall and Nannie Shelton) applied for a marriage license 24 August 1946.[5]
