Richard Ashmore was christened on 8th April 1787 in the Worcestershire village of Chaddesley Corbett. His parents names were Joseph and Elizabeth.
Richard married Sarah Jones in Edgbaston, now a suburb of Birmingham but then in Warwickshire, on 3rd February 1809.
Their daughter, Susannah, was christened in the village of Clent, Worcestershire on 26th September 1813.
The 1841 census has Richard and Sarah living with two further children, Joseph and Eliza, at Hagley Park, Hagley, Worcetershire.
By 1851 Richard was sixty-three years old and had retired from his job as a Garden Labourer and Lodge Keeper. It would appear that Richard had been employed in the maintenance of the 350 acres of Hagley Park in which stands Hagley Hall, the home of the Lyttleton family. Richard and Sarah were now living in Hagley with their daughter, Mary A. Ashmore (33) and a grand-daughter, Mary Ann Lander (11).
Richard was buried in Hagley on 16th March 1861.
