John was born in 1720, based on his marriage.
John supposed child of Joseph Ashton. There is no mention of Mary Fitz Randolph as his mother or the wife of Joseph. John Ashton and Catherine Taylor were licensed to marry 2 June 1741, both residents of Monmouth County, New Jersey.[1]
