Biography

Susannah was born about 1765, estimated from marriage and age at death.

She married Timothy Robinson on 17 April 1786 at Bradford. Timothy Robinson, weaver, Susey Ashworth, spinster, both of that parish. Both marked with a cross. Witnesses Joshua Horn and Samuel Yeadon.^[1]

Susannah died about 1846 and was buried at Kipping Independent Chapel, Thornton. The burial register is incomplete but a gravestone inscription (no longer visible) was recorded in a survey of 1912 as "In memory of TIMOTHY ROBINSON of Thornton who died May 1825 aged 70 years. Also JUDITH, wife of THOMAS COCKROFT & daughter of the above, who died Feb 1830 aged 34 years. Also REBECCA, granddaughter of the above TIMOTHY ROBINSON, who died Feb 28th 1840 aged 18 years. Also SUSANNAH, wife of the above said TIMOTHY ROBINSON, who died June 1846 aged 81 years".^[2] Timothy and Judith's ages are about 5 years out, but other details agree; there are records for the marriage of Judith Robinson and Thomas Cockroft in 1817, the birth of Rebecca in 1818 and death in 1840. However, no census or death registration traced for Susannah yet.

Possible baptism 21 October 1764 at Bradford, daughter of James Ashworth.^[3]
