William's birth was registered in Lincoln, England, in the third quarter of 1886. his mother's maiden surname was not recorded.[1]
In the 1891 census William (age 4) was living with his uncle Henry Frith in Bardney, Lincolnshire, England. Elizabeth Frith nee Askew was presumably his mother's sister:[2]

William married his widowed landlady Beatrice Hind in Lincoln in 1915.[5]
William passed away in 1919, of war wounds - infection in amputated leg. [6] His death (age 31) was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1919 in the Greenwich district, London, England.[7]
