George was born about 1600. He is assumed to be the son of George Aspedeyne and Jennett Unknown.
He married Jenett Longworthe (bpt 1603 Bolton) at Blackburn in Feb 1622/23. [1]
The couple appeared to have lived at Entwistle in the parish of Bolton, about nine miles south-east of Blackburn. The boundary between the two parishes cut across the Darwen Moors a few miles south of Blackburn. There was no direct road between Blackburn and Entwistle until the late 18th century. Rather, the main road went via Tockholes.
Most of their children were baptised at Bolton which must have been easier to get to from where they were living.
Children:
1628 Margrett (bpt Bolton);
1632 (Aug) James (bpt Blackburn - abode parish of Bolton - see Research Notes below);
1637 (Jun) George (bpt Bolton);
1640 Elizabeth (bpt Bolton);
1644 Peter & John - twins (bpt Bolton);
Janet Aspden was designated a widow in an Aug 1674 deed relating to property in Entwistle.[2] Hence, George is probably the man who passed away in Jan 1650/51. [3]
His grave can be found at St Peter Churchyard, Bolton.[4]
