Biography

Jonas Aspinal was born in Great Boughton, Chester, Cheshire, England, on 11 November 1857.^[1] He was a farmer.^[2]

Jonas married Sarah Hannah Fretwell on June 30, 1883, in Halifax, Yorkshire.^[3]

In the 1901 census, a 72 year old man named John Rawnsley is living with Jonas and his family, who is recorded as being Jonas' uncle.^[2] I suspect that John Rawnsley is a misspelling of John Rangley". That would explain the relationship between them.

Jonas and Sarah also had an adopted son named Harold Priestly, who was born around 1887.^[2]

Jonas died on 14 May 1916.^[4][5][6]
