Eliza was born on 9 November 1815 to parents William and Mary Asprey. She was Christened on 30 September 1822 in Saint Martin's Church Birmingham, Warwickshire.[1]
She married Joseph Rosier by Banns on 17 November 1839 in the Parish of St Marylebone, Middlesex. Fathers: Joseph Rosier, Gardener, and William Asprey, Jeweller (deceased). [2] Their marriage was registered in the fourth quarter of 1839.[3]&[4]
Joseph was noted as a Veneer Sawyer on the Banns register in 1839. But he was recorded as being Independent (Ind.) in the 1841 Census, and no 'Rank, Profession, Occupation' was recorded in the 1851 Census; the children were noted as Scholars. Some time after the 1851 Census, the family moved to Macclesfield, Cheshire, where her daughter Charlotte was born in 1855. Then before the third quarter of 1859, they had moved back to her home of Warwickshire. Her husband's death was registered in Aston, Warwickshire in the third quarter of 1859. In 1861 Eliza was a widow working as a Laundress with seven children to raise. All the children except for the youngest two, aged 6 and 9, were working.
In 1881 and 1891 she was living in Percy Road, Yardley, Solihull, Warwickshire with her youngest daughter Mary Ann and her family.
Eliza died at 79 years of age and her death was registered in the third quarter of 1895 in Solihull, Warwickshire. [5]
