In 1871[3], he was German and living at home in Lennox, Ontario. He was Wesleyan Methodist.

In 1921, he was retired and living on Front Street.[6]. He was Dutch.
He died from Senility on May 2, 1931 in Kingston, Ontario. He was a carriage maker.[7]
