Biography

19th Lord Hastings

Bernard was born in 1855. He was the son of Sir Delaval Astley, 18th Lord Hastings and Hon. Frances Manners-Sutton.

UK Census Date 1871: Recorded in the household of his aunt Rosalind Alicia Astley in Ellesborough, Buckinghamshire, England. Aged 15.

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England and at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.

Upon the death of his father on 28 September 1872 he succeeded as the 19th Lord Hastings [E., 1295] and he succeeded as the 9th Baronet Astley, of Hill Morton, co. Warwick [E., 1660].

Sadly Bernard passed away in 1875 at the age of 20, unmarried.
