Biography

Charles was born in November 1829 on Cow Lane in Coventry, Warwickshire to Richard and Sophia Astley. He was christened at St. Philip's in Coventry on 4 June 1830.^[1]

In April of 1849, Charles married Elizabeth Rollason at St. Lawrence's in Foleshill, Warwickshire.^[2][3] Sometime between 1851 and 1861, the family relocated from Warwickshire to Islington.^[4][5]
