Ernest Aston is an Anzac who served in World War One.
Biography
Ernest Edward Aston was born in 1886. He was the eldest surviving child of William Aston and Emma Harris.

After finishing school Ernest worked as a bank messenger. He was 30 years old and still living with his parents when he enlisted on 16 Oct 1916. His enlistment papers record him as nearly 6 feet tall, with a dark complexion, brown hair, and hazel eyes.
Ernest served until 1919 in the 3rd Australian Machine Gun Battalion. He survived the war and returned to Australia on 27 May 1919.

His younger brother Arthur, who also enlisted and was deployed as a stretcher bearer, died of gunshot wounds on 10 June, 1917 at Bailleul, aged 26.
