Biography

Maria (Atchison) Bradley was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Maria Jane Atchison the daughter of Samuel Charles Atchison and Clorinda Thomas was born in the Shellharbour District of southern New South Wales in January 1870.

Maria Jane Atchison married John Swinford Bradley in August 1896 at or about Philip Street in Sydney, New South Wales in what was soon to become Australia,

Maria Jane Bradley passed away in March 1954 at Lawarra Street Port Kembla in New South Wales, Australia.

from the Illawarra Daily Mercury newspaper of Thursday 25 March 1954 we see a small Obituary as reproduced below:

MRS. M. J. BRADLEY
The death occurred yest-erday at her residence in Lawarra St, Port Kembla of Mrs. Maria Jane Bradley, aged 84. She was prede-ceased by her husband, John, and was the mother of Alex, Jack, and Cloe (Mrs. O'Mealey). The fun-eral will leave the Presby-terian Church today for the Wollongong Cemetery. Rev. Williams will officiate.
