Biography

Jaepye was born before 18 May 1766 in Readington, Hunterdon, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Adrian Aten and Elizabeth Strycker. [1]

She was undoubtedly named for her grandmother Jacobje Middagh Aten. Her father Adrian's will was prepared in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in 1819 and identified her as "Cis," probably the name commonly used by her family.[2]
