Biography

The son of Andrew Aten and Nancy (Coller) Aten, Alonzo was born in Macon Township in 1856.[1] In 1860, he and his parents lived with his maternal grandparents at their farm in Macon Township.[2][3] After the death of his grandfather, they sold the Coller farm and bought farm land in Clinton, Michigan.[4] His father passed away in 1886, and he took over the farm in Clinton, with his mother in the household.[5][6]

His mother passed away in 1910, and Alonzo gave up farming and moved to Manchester, Michigan, where he sold newspapers for a living. [7] Alonzo passed away in Pittsfield, Michigan at the age of 69[8] Burial records aren't found.
