Biography

Maria also comes from a rich Spanish culture that developed in the Santa Fe area of New Mexico territory in the 17th & 18th century after Spain colonized Mexico and spread north into that area. Maria's family came from the area of Abiquiu, Rio Arriba, and Santa Cruz NM arriving in San Bernardino in 1842.

Maria can be found in the 1880 census in San Bernardino CA, 1900 for Riverside Ca, and 1920 for Glendora, Los Angeles, CA. She nor her son Frank Valerio cannot be found in 1910, 1930, nor 1940 even though she doe not die until 1956. She is listed on son's WWII draft card in 1942 living in Lima, Riverside, CA. Mary is buried in Olivewood Cemetery along with many other Archuletas.
