Henry Atherton was christened on 30 Jul 1740 at St John's Church in Preston, Lancashire. He was the son of William and Lucy Atherton (but the christening record doesn't name his mother, and only names his father as "Mr. Atherton, Alderman").
Henry married Ann Byrom on 2 Dec 1780 at Manchester Cathedral. Neither had been married before. Henry was 39 and an Esquire of Middle Temple, London, Middlesex; Ann was 28 and of Manchester. William Fox (gentleman of Manchester) co-signed the marriage bond.
Their daughter Eleonora was christened on 21 Mar 1782 at St John's Church in Manchester, Lancashire.[1]
Their daughter Lucy was christened on 21 Dec 1792 at St John's Church in Manchester, Lancashire.[2]
Henry and his two daughters Eleonora and Lucy are mentioned in the will of Elizabeth Atherton of Prescot.
