Biography
He appears on the 1776 census in St. John & George Parish, Prince George's, Maryland.
Hezekiah served in the Revolutionary War, Private, 26th Battalion, Captain William McPherson's Company, Charles Co., Maryland Militia. Took fidelity oath, Port Tobacco, Upper Hundred, Charles Co., Maryland in 1778.
Hezekiah appears on the 1778 census in Port Tobacco, Upper Hundred, Charles Co., Maryland.
He appears on the assessment list in the 4th District in Charles Co., Maryland in 1783.
1790 Charles, MD census - 3 M <16, 1 M 16+, 2 F. (p. 543)
1800 Port Tobacco Parish, Charles, MD census - 1 M 45+, 4 slaves. (p. 552)
1820 New Albany, Floyd, Indiana census - Hezekiah Athean. FWM: 1 16-26, 1 45+. FWF: 1 45+. Living next door to Benjamin Athean (son). This is probably Hezekiah Sr, Elizabeth, and Hezekiah Levy. (p. 135)
He died sometime after 1820 and before 1830. His widow Elizabeth appears on the 1830 census in Jefferson County, Indiana.
Some of his children changed their name to ATHON.
