The marriage of Miss Maude Williams, daughter of Councillor Theo. Williams, of Ballarat East, to Mr. J. A. Atkinson, grazier, of Ballan, third son of the late Mr. H. A. Atkinson, of Millbrook, took place at the bride's residence on Wednesday last week. A large party of friends witnessed the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Henry Jones, M.A. The bride, who wore a walking dress in navy blue bengaline, was attended by her sister, Miss Beatrice Williams, as bridesmaid, and Mr. R. A. Blackham, of Sale, supported the bridegroom. At the close of the dejeuner the bride and bridegroom left for Gippsland. They received numerous handsome presents.
ATKINSON.—On the 28th May, at his residence, Graham avenue, Wangaratta, John Anthony Atkinson, formerly of The Homestead, Taminick, Glenrowan, and Warrah, Ballan, dearly beloved husband of Rachal Maude, and devoted father of Lewis (Grong Grong, N.S.W.), Ivor (The Homestead), Gwladys (Mrs. R. A. Sadler, Taminick) and Frances. (No flowers.)
ATKINSON.—The Friends of the late JOHN A. ATKINSON are respectfully informed that his remains will be interred in the Wangaratta Cemetery.
The funeral is appointed to leave St. Columb's Chapel, Murdoch road, Wangaratta, Tomorrow (Sunday, 30th May), at 3.30 p.m.
He was buried in Wangaratta Cemetery on 30 May 1937. [6] Rachel joined him in 1958. [7]
