A private entry in the IGI gives a christening at Stapleford on 16.10.1698 to parents John and Deborah (note that both these names occur amongst his children). It is also indicated that father John was born there in 1674, and married there in 1690.

Marriage was by licence. He is named as John Attenburrow of Stapelford, and she as Martha Bagguly of St Peter's Nottingham.

Mary's christening is given in FamilySearch at Stapleford.
The other children's christenings are given in a private IGI entry, Frances' at Bramcote and the remainder at Stapleford, with mother named as Martha in all cases.[8]
