Matilda (Attwood) Eales was born in Northamptonshire, England.

Matilda Attwood was born in 1857 in Kislingbury, Northamptonshire, England to George Attwood and Lydia (Farey) Attwood. Her birth was registered in Northampton, Northamptonshire in the first quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Farey.[1]

In 1861 Matilda Attwood (age 4, Scholar) lived at High Street in Kislingbury with her father George (34, Tailor) and mother Lydia (31, Tailors Wife).[2]

In 1871 Matilda Attwood (age 14) lived in Heyford, Northamptonshire with her father George (44, Tailor & Innkeeper (Olde Sun)), mother Lydia (41), her father's apprentice John Thos Linnell (19, Tailor Apprentice), and four visitors: William E Hodges (40, Carpenter), Sarah Hodges (45), Joseph S Smith (7, Scholar), and Henry Goode (31, Shoemaker).[3]

Matilda Attwood married George Eales in 1877. The marriage was registered in Northampton in the third quarter of the year.[4]

Matilda and George had seven children:

In 1881 Matilda Eales (age 23) lived at The Green in Nether Heyford with her husband George (29, Labourer At Iron Works) and son Harry G (1).[5] Her daughter Mary A E Eales (3, Scholar) also lived in Nether Heyford with Matilda's parents.

In 1891 Matilda Eales (age 34), along with her husband George (39, Brickyard Labourer) and four children - Mary A (13), Harry G (10, Scholar), Emily (7, Scholar), and Annie (4, Scholar) - lived in Nether Heyford in the household of her father George Attwood (64, Tailor & Innkeeper (Olde Sun)).[6]

In 1901 Matilda Eales (age 44), along with her husband George Eales (49, Brick Burner) and five children - Harry G (20, Carpenter), Emily (17, Teacher), Annie (14), Albert A (9), and William T (3) - lived in Heyford in the household of her father George Attwood (74, Innkeeper & Tailor (Olde Sun)).[7]

In 1911 Matilda Eales (age 53) lived in Heyford with her husband George (59, Brickburner Retired), daughter Emily (27, Elementary School Teacher for County Council), and son William T A (13, Farm Labourer).[8]

Matilda Eales passed away in 1949, aged 92 years. Her death was registered in Brixworth, Northamptonshire in the second quarter of the year.[9]
