Born on 23 DEC 1869 in Millville, Cumberland, New Jersey, USA.[1][2][3][4] Although he and his brothers and sisters were all born in New Jersey, their mother told them to tell others that they were "Rhode Island born and bred". She was not happy about living in New Jersey!
