I have some oral history on the Atwell family I will be happy to share, the story about how the family traveled in the mid 1700's from Connecticut to Nova Scotia with their belongings in an ox cart, crossing the Bay of Fundy at low tide, and how our family was part of the first 500 to go to Nova Scotia. I believe the first 500 is a story that probably started out as our ancestor John Atwell was granted 500 acres in Nova Scotia as I have not been able to find any reference to the first 500 settlers.
