Birth

Jesse Atwood was born at Eastham, Massachusetts, on 1 May 1749, the son of James Atwood and Mercy (Young) Atwood.^[1][2]

Jesse Atwood of Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts and Hannah Deane Atwood of Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Hannah and Jesse were married on 05 November 1771 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Hannah and Jesse had eleven children. They were: Hannah Atwood was born on 17 September 1772; Mehitable Atwood was born on 09 July 1774; Deborah Atwood was born on 16 April 1776; Jesse Atwood was born on 28 December 1778; James Austin Atwood was born on 23 March 1781; Thomas Deane Atwood was born on 05 October 1783; William Atwood was born on 11 September 1785; Benjamin Atwood was born on 15 October 1787; Abigail Atwood was born on 05 July 1790; Mary "Mercy" Atwood was born on 23 February 1794; Archealaus Deane Atwood was born on 10 December 1795. All the children were born in Orrington, Penobscot County, Maine.

Death

Jesse Atwood died at Orrington, Maine, on 9 Apr 1833 and is buried at the Dean Hill Cemetery in Orrington.^[5]
