Biography

US Black Heritage Project
Marguerite Aubert is a part of US Black heritage.

Marie Marguerite Aubert was born about 1854 in Louisiana, and was the maternal grandmother of musician Fats Domino. [1]

The US Census of 1870 for Louisiana, St. John the Baptist Parish, shows an Adele Aubert (39) as head-of-household with daughters Marie (7), Camelia (11 months), & Marguerite (17). FamiilySearch.org currently has a tree which names Marguerite's parents as Zéphirin Aubert and Eugénie Zéphyrin, but no source directly ties them to her. On the aforementioned census of 1870, Adele's household is preceded by that of Zephirin Aubert (50), and another male named Florient (40) lived in the household. Additionally, Eugenie Aubert (55) is recorded in a preceding household as a domestic servant.
