Kristoffer was born about 1642, and was the son of Børge Kristofferson Aubø and Birgitte Fartegnsdotter Bagge.[1]
He lived at Talgje until 1689, when he took over Aubø.[2]
He was married to Elisabeth Jonsdotter Raunes.[2] Their children were:
He was a wealthy lensmann (sheriff) in 1657.[2]
He made many poor business deals, and mortgaged Aubø more than once. He was sued by his brother Valentin in 1695: Kristoffer had borrowed 200 riksdaler five years earlier, with security in half of Aubø, but now Kristoffer was letting his sons Børge and Jon manage that half, and they were ruining both the lands and the buildings.[2]
Valentin was granted half the farm, and in 1696, Kristoffer sold the entire farm and its allodial rights to Valentin for 200 daler, but was obliged to use that money to pay off another debtor, Børge Børgeson Tøtland, who also had had security in the farm for an unfulfilled loan.[2]
Kristoffer had to move to Aubøhagen, a cotter's place under Aubø.[2]
He married Kirsti Mauritsdotter Birkeland from Bjerkreim about 1698.[2] Their children were:
